Meet your M.O.M. Staff

Csilla Horvath

Head of School/Co-Lead Teacher

Csilla joined M.O.M. in 2010. She was born and raised in Central Europe. Her younger daughter is a MOM alumna. Csilla received her Montessori Credential from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA, and holds a Master’s degree in Montessori Arts. She also holds a B.A. in English Language and Literature from the University of Novi Sad, ex-Yugoslavia. Csilla loves spending time with her daughters, going to art shows and concerts with her husband, cooking and baking, traveling, and painting. She brings her love of teaching art to MOM with weekly art lessons and daily art projects.

Caroline Hyde

Co-Lead Teacher

Caroline was born and raised in the UK. Prior to moving to the US, she worked as a Pediatric Physical Therapist and holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Physical Therapy, from Glasgow Caledonian University, UK. She spent a happy eight years at home raising her two boys, and joined the MOM team in 2014, completing her Montessori training at St. Mary’s College, Moraga, in 2017. Caroline enjoys spending her ‘spare’ time taking long walks in the forest with the 4-legged family member, and camping, biking and skiing with her family.

Seraphima (Sima) Rombe-Shulman

Co-Lead Teacher

Sima was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, and moved to the United States as a teenager. She was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali, West Africa and has a Master’s degree in Anthropology from American University in Washington, DC. After moving to Berkeley in 2017, Sima began work as a Montessori teacher. She received her Montessori Early Childhood Education Credential from the Montessori Teacher Education Center San Francisco Bay Area in 2019. As well as being a Montessori teacher, Sima is a mom to three boys. She enjoys cheering them on during their soccer games and piano recitals. Sima loves to cook and bake, and share her culinary creations with her friends and family. She is very excited to be a part of the M.O.M. community. 

Nikolina Mueller

Assistant Teacher

Nikolina was born in Croatia and raised in Serbia. She moved to California in 2017. Nikolina has a preschool teacher degree from a 4-year teacher training program at the University of Belgrade, Serbia, and she also holds a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. After volunteering at MOM for over a year, Nikolina finally joined our team in the spring of 2022 and has enriched our school with her previous experience as a preschool teacher in Belgrade. In her free time, Nikolina enjoys traveling with her husband, cooking, doing art projects and photography.

Jenny Camburn

Assistant Teacher

Jenny was born in San Francisco and was raised in Fremont. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Child and Adolescent Studies and Minor in Art from California State University of Fullerton. After two years of being a stay-at-home mother to her little one, Jenny is excited to return to working with young children. Jenny loves making ice cream, going on family walks, and practicing her various arts.

Virginia Robles

Assistant Teacher

Virginia is the youngest of her siblings and the first born and raised in Oakland, California, where she earned her AA in child development at Merritt college, as well as her Certificates of Proficiency for both Assistant Teacher and Associate Teacher in 2016. Virginia has tutored in elementary schools K-8 and has worked in the Montessori setting for five years. She earned the Montessori certificate at NAMC (North American Montessori Center) in Early Childhood, ages 3-6 in 2021. Prior to joining M.O.M., she was head teacher at Lodi Montessori in the 3-5 classroom for 2 years. Virginia has a profound appreciation for our wildlife and ecosystem. She loves learning new facts about animals, particularly marine animals. Her hobbies are dancing, swimming, writing, hiking, and creating beautiful and abstract art.
